Rose was 11 for 17 from the field, helping Minnesota get back on track after dropping two in a row. Taj Gibson had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves, and Jeff Teague finished with 15.
UNDATED (AP) — De’Andre Hunter had 20 points and nine rebounds to help No. 4 Virginia beat No. 25 Wisconsin 53-46 today in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game. Ty Jerome added 11 points for the Cavaliers, who led 33-18 after a strong first half, and then sputtered offensively as the Badgers kept pushing back. Virginia made just 2 of 16 shots out of halftime and shot 26 percent for the second half.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Carsen Edwards scored 19 points, Ryan Cline had 17 and No. 24 Purdue routed Robert Morris 84-46. The Boilermakers bounced back nicely from their first loss of the season Sunday night against No. 13 Virginia Tech. Edwards was 5 for 17 from the field against the Colonials, but also contributed five assists, four steals and a blocked shot.
UNDATED (AP) — Sam Ehlinger threw for two touchdowns and ran for a score, and No. 11 Texas held off Kansas 24-17 to clinch a spot in the Big 12 title game. Tre Watson finished with 79 yards on 14 carries as Texas continued its strong second season under coach Tom Herman.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Sean Couturier scored a pair of goals, Calvin Pickard made 31 saves in his 12th career shutout and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Rangers 4-0 to stop a four-game losing streak. Travis Konecny had a goal, two assists and got into fight, Jordan Weal scored an empty-net goal and Claude Giroux had three assists for Philadelphia, which entered tied for last in the Metropolitan conference.
