Marshall men’s soccer goes to ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Marshall University men’s soccer plays a 7 p.m. Wednesday non-conference game in Summers-Taylor Stadium. The match will be broadcast on the SoCon (Southern Conference) Digital Network.

Marshall, 3-4-2, won its last match Saturday at home against Old Dominion (4-2) and improved to 1-1-1 in Conference USA.

Thundering Herd players Jonas Westmeyer, Gianni Bouzoukis, Kelan Swales and Illal have each scored two goals this season. Goalkeeper Paulo Pita has 28 saves and three shutouts. ETSU (4-5) is coming off a 3-0 loss to No. 7 Kentucky on Sept. 26. Danny Barlow leads the Buccaneeers with five goals and Bruno Andrade has three. Josh Perryman has 28 saves and two shutouts.

Volleyball

HUNTINGTON — Conference USA Volleyball Championship Tournament tickets are available for purchase atwww.herdzone.com.

The tournament hosted by Marshall is Nov. 16-18 in Cam Henderson Center.

All seats are general admission. All-tournament packages are $20 for adults, $10 for children from age 3 to 12 and $15 for Big Green Scholarship Foundation members, season ticket holders and Thunder Pass holders. Single day tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children from age 3 to 12.

Men’s basketball

Marshall men’s basketball is hosting a Saturday, Oct. 20, coaching clinic in Cam Henderson Center.

The clinic is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., The cost is $30 for individual coaches, $50 for a staff of two coaches and $60 for a staff of three coaches. Fees include a ticket to the Homecoming football game against Florida Atlantic at 2:30 p.m., Nike Basketball materials, diagramsheets and a lunch/chalk talk. Registration is from 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Marshall head coach Dan D’Antoni’s staff will conduct a Thundering Herd practice with the Conference USA championship team, provide on-court instruction and have a film breakdown.
