Kevin Cramer has 10-point edge over Heidi Heitkamp in North Dakota: Poll
North Dakota Republican Kevin Cramer is leading Democrat incumbent Sen. Heidi Heitkamp by 10 points in the race for her U.S. Senate seat, according to a recent Valley News Live poll.
Mr. Cramer’s 51 percent to 41 percent lead is due in part to male voters who prefer him by 56 percent to Ms. Heitkamp’s 35 percent. Female voters were tied at 46.5 percent behind each candidate.
North Dakota is one of the senate seats Republicans hope to turn red, since President Trump won the state in 2016 by 36 points.
Strategic Research Associates conducted the survey with 650 likely voters from Sept. 17 to Sept. 27.
While voters were being questioned, Christine Blasey Ford came forward with her sexual misconduct allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. The poll, though, was completed before their hearing last week.
According to the results, 60 percent of the likely voters support confirmation while 27 percent were opposed.
