Uber drivers win settlement over data breach but lose case over employee rights

Nearly 30,000 Uber drivers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey will receive settlement money because of Uber’s failure to disclose a 2016 data breach, law enforcement officials in both states announced Wednesday.

The money, $3.75 million for at least 16,000 drivers in New Jersey and $5.7 million for at least 13,500 drivers in Pennsylvania, will be distributed through the two states’ attorneys general offices.
