Domestic Assault Case Against LCCF Guard Dismissed
A domestic assault case against a Luzerne County Correctional Facility corporal was dismissed Thursday.
The details of that dismissal weren’t immediately available.
According to court papers, charges for misdemeanor simple assault and a summary count of harassment filed against Bradley Mrochko, 47, of Mountain Top, by Rice Twp. police, were dismissed by Magisterial District Judge Thomas Malloy Sr., Wilkes-Barre.
Following the charges being filed against him Sept. 23 he was placed on unpaid administrative leave.
Mrochko’s arrest came after police said they responded to a domestic dispute at his Lakeview Drive home, around 9 p.m. Sept. 22, finding a juvenile girl there who told them Mrochko was beating her mother.
According to arrest papers, Mrochko had a fat lip, claimed he did nothing wrong and that the woman attacked him. But when police spoke to the woman, who was bleeding from the nose and had a red mark on her neck, she told them he punched her on the left side of her face and grabbed her by the throat so she hit him to get away.
He was free on nonmonetary bail.
