Brothers arrested in Katy following execution of warrant
A pair of brothers were arrested early Wednesday after deputies with Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap’s office executed a search warrant in Katy.
According to a news release, Heap’s Major Offenders Unit executed the search warrant Wednesday morning and “arrested a man wanted on aggravated assault charges at his Katy home in the 900 block of Grand Junction.”
Jashua Samuel Dorelus, 24, was reportedly arrested without incident and charged with aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.
An arrest warrant for Dorelus was obtained after “witnesses said he pulled a gun on four people in two separate incidents on April 23, 2019.”
His brother, Lael Dorelus, 27, was also arrested Wednesday on charges of illegal possession of a firearm.
Deputies who were “executing the search warrant found and seized cocaine, Xanax, hydrocodone and marijuana which were discovered inside the residence as well.”
According to Harris County District Clerk records, Jashua Dorelus has an extensive criminal history in Harris County with four previous felony cases dating back to 2012 to go along with three current felony charges. He is currently being held in Harris County Jail under bonds totalling $55,000.
Records indicate Lael Dorelus has just one previous felony, receiving a three-year sentence in prison in 2015 for burglary of a habitation. He currently has bonded out of jail after posting $5,000 bail.
