EDGEWOOD, Md. (AP) — Authorities in Maryland have charged a woman with intentionally setting a fire that killed three of her housemates and injured two more.

News outlets report 60-year-old Bobbie Sue Hodge faces arson, murder and attempted murder charges. She had told WBAL that she was a victim of the May 9 fire, but the Harford County Sheriff’s Department thinks she intentionally set the blaze. Charging documents accuse Hodge of previously making threats to burn the home.

Maryland State Fire Marshal Brian S. Geraci said the fire started in a second-floor living room and was “no accident.” Hodge is being held without bail, awaiting a hearing.

The fire marshal’s office also determined that building was an out-of-code group home that lacked sprinklers.
