Federal workers can get free pet food Saturday

February 9, 2019

ASHLAND - Tri-State Spay and Neuter will offer free pet food and litter to federal employees affected by the recent temporary government shutdown thanks to a donation from Chewy.com and GreaterGood.org.

Federal employees who were affected will have a chance to pick up free pet food from 3 to 5 p.m., or while supplies last, Saturday, Feb. 9, in the former Jo-Ann Fabric space located beside the Boyd County Public Library Kyova branch.

Approximately 17,000 pounds of food and litter have been donated by Chewy.com for federal workers in the Tri-State area. Recipients will need to provide proof of federal employment. Donations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
