3 men facing charges of misconduct with minors
Three men were charged with child molesting or similar charges last week.
Man allegedly met girl on dating sites
Jacob Ruch, 29, of New Haven, allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl between January and August of 2018, according to court documents.
During an interview at the Dr. Bill Lewis Center, the girl talked about having a sexual relationship with at least three men and that they all apparently knew she was 15. One man was in Warsaw, another in Auburn and Ruch in New Haven.
The girl said she met the men on dating sites. The Auburn man lived with his parents. Because he didn’t want his parents to know what he was doing, she crawled through his bedroom window to meet him, she said, according to court documents.
During one encounter with Ruch, the girl said she told him to come over for sex and they did it in her family’s living room while her parents slept.
The girl traded photos, sometimes nude photos, on Snapchat, documents said.
The investigator asked the girl if she knew “that the grown men she was doing this with could go to prison for these actions,” court documents said.
She replied that she knew the men could get in trouble but that she didn’t think anyone would find out. She also thought Snapchat records were private and could not be accessed.
Ruch was charged Wednesday with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, child solicitation and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.
He was released Friday from the Allen County Jail on $32,500 bail and has a court hearing Monday.
Man accused of sex with neighbor
Dawan S. Griffin, 19, of the 6000 block of Moeller Road, was charged Friday three counts of child molesting after admitting he had sexual relations with a 13-year-old neighbor.
The girl admitted to the relationship and said she would sneak out of her home around 2 a.m. to go to Griffin’s home, where they would play video games and have protected sex, court documents said.
The sexual acts occurred between August and October. The girl’s mother reported the sexual activity to the police and there was an investigation, court documents said.
There is a warrant for his arrest.
Felony count among charges
Willie J. Witherspoon, 18, of the 8600 block of Gulf Drive, is being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.
He is accused of molesting a fifth-grade boy at least three times. The acts occurred between May 2017 and August.
The boy’s mother found out about the situation after the boy said he did not want to get picked up by Witherspoon. The mother also said that the boy’s behavior had changed.
Witherspoon was charged with two counts of child molesting, one a felony. Witherspoon has a hearing Tuesday.
