Danbury hosts fire officer training next week

DANBURY — Senior fire officers and chaplains are invited to learn how to prepare for a line-of-duty death at the city fire department’s training facility next Thursday.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will present a five-module Taking Care of Our Own class at the 21 Plumtrees Road facility from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The class — sponsored by Paul Davis of Fairfield County — will cover topics like pre-incident planning, notifications, benefits and supporting a department and family after a line-of-duty death.

Lunch will be provided, courtesy of Backdraft Bar-B-Q Catering.

The class if free, but there are only 40 spaces.
