DENVER (AP) _ Forward Terry Davis, who was out of the NBA for a year, signed a contract with the Denver Nuggets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed Tuesday.

``Terry adds size and toughness to our frontcourt,'' Nuggets president and head coach Dan Issel said. ``We've been looking to add a physical presence down low and we feel that Terry is a great fit.''

Davis averaged 6.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in 461 games in nine seasons with three NBA teams.

He last played in the 1998-99 season, with the Washington Wizards. He was traded in August 1999, to the Denver Nuggets, who waived him before the season.

The Nuggets open training camp next week.
