Pittsburgh man to serve more than 4 years in prison for possessing child porn
A Pittsburgh man has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for possessing child pornography.
United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak this week imposed the 52-month sentence on Abhijeet Das, 28, who was convicted of possessing material depicting the exploitation of a minor. The judge ordered 10 years of supervised release to follow the prison term, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced Thursday.
Das had computer files containing about 1,000 photographs and 380 videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to information presented to the court.
An investigation by the Western Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force led to prosecution of the case, Brady said.
