Fall Herb Faire is Saturday at Pascalina in Montmorenci
The last Saturday in September has for nearly 20 years meant that it is time for the Fall Herb Faire.
This year’s faire will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Pascalina at 3250 Charleston Highway, about one mile outside of Montmorenci.
The faire will feature the artistic creations of 25 to 30 vendors.
Attendees can bring a picnic lunch to have under Pascalina’s old oak trees or can put together a meal from artisan vendors who will be selling goat cheese, fresh milk, mountain apples from North Carolina and boiled peanuts. Hot dogs will be available, too.
Pascalina is an Aiken County landmark and is featured at the Aiken County Historical Museum. The name comes from the family who lived at the farm during the Civil War when Union troops used the home during the Battle of Aiken.
Today, Pascalina is a small, family-run vegetable, herb and cut flower farm. The farm is the site of the Herb Faire twice a year: the first Saturday in May and the last Saturday in September.
