SEYMOUR, Conn. (AP) — Over two dozen residents of an apartment building in Seymour have been displaced following a large fire.

The Connecticut Post reports 26 residents were displaced following flames that started in the attic, but quickly spread throughout the South Main Street building.

The local fire department responded shortly after 3:10 p.m. on Saturday.

The Seymour Fire Department says one firefighter has a sprained ankle. All residents were evacuated safely, as multiple fire departments assisted in extinguishing the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
