The Cat’s Pajamas performs in Beaver Dam Thursday
The Cat’s Pajamas, a popular vocal band, is returning to Beaver Dam Thursday as part of its “Music in Schools” tour.
This high-octane professional a cappella group brings their fresh style to pop songs of all styles, decades and genres of music. Audiences can expect to hear hit songs from Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Queen, The Temptations, Andy Grammer, Florida Georgia Line and more.
Founded by Brian Skinner, a former member of the Wisconsin Singers and UW-Madison’s Madhatters, the five-person group performs more than 200 shows per year in Branson, Missouri. The Cat’s Pajamas has been featured on the television shows “Next Great American Band,” “America’s Got Talent” and “The Sing-Off.”
Beaver Dam High School choir director Mark Lefeber said the group performed at BDHS in recent years and travels to approximately 40 colleges and high schools each spring as part of a fundraising tour.
The members will work with BDHS SWAZZ and Treble Threat by teaching breathing, singing techniques, confidence, vocal percussion and performance tips.
To date, The Cat’s Pajamas have raised more than $150,000 for music education programs across the country.
Lefeber said SWAZZ and Treble Threat are excited to open the show, which takes place in the BDHS auditorium at 7:30 p.m. SWAZZ earned a starred first rating at Saturday’s solo and ensemble festival in Hartford and will compete at the state festival next month.
