Convicted Colorado rapist has parole revoked

July 24, 2018

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — The Colorado Parole Board has revoked a 43-year-old convicted rapist’s parole after determining that he violated the terms of his release.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports that the board on Monday ordered that Christopher Lawyer’s parole be revoked for the remainder of his original sentence, which was 12 years to life.

Colorado Department of Corrections spokesman Mark Fairbairn says Lawyer still will be able to apply for parole although Fairbairn did not know when Lawyer would next be able to apply.

Lawyer was originally sentenced in 2001 for raping a woman delivering newspapers in Boulder. He was paroled in 2016.

Lawyer had an earlier parole violation for which he was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
