Woman dies from injuries in Fort Mohave hit-and-run

FORT MOHAVE — A candelight memorial service in honor of Taylor Ann Young will be held Friday in Fort Mohave.

Young, 18, died Saturday from injuries she suffered in a hit-and-run accident Friday near the intersection of Highway 95 and Camp Mohave Road in Fort Mohave.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Young was walking east across Highway 95 when she was struck by a dark blue Chrysler 300 around 8:54 p.m. Friday. The vehicle left the scene.

Young died from her injuries at 5:50 p.m. Saturday.

DPS is seeking the public’s help in identifying the vehicle and driver involved in the fatal accident. In addition to the make and model, DPS said the vehicle should have damage to the windshield on the driver’s side and to the left headlight.

Witnesses told authorities that the vehicle had a handicap plate that included the letters “G” and “W.” No additional information on the vehicle or driver was available.

The candlelight service, organized by friends and family, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday near the Ace Hardware store in Fort Mohave, which is at the intersection where the accident took place.
