Prosecutor: Former Argentine spy chief to testify this week
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — An Argentine investigator probing the mysterious death of prosecutor Alberto Nisman says she’ll question the former spy chief who Argentine President Cristina Fernandez has suggested was behind the death.
Prosecutor Viviana Fein told radio station La Red on Monday that Antonio Stiuso will be asked about phone communications with Nisman on Jan. 18, the day he was found dead. Fein did not say when or where Stiuso would testify.
Nisman had accused Fernandez of shielding Iranian officials allegedly connected to the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center that killed 85. Fernandez and Iran have denied the allegations.
Nisman was found dead hours before he was to elaborate on his allegations to Congress. Stiuso had collaborated with Nisman on his investigation.
