Andersons’ 70th Anniversary
Monday, September 3, will be the platinum wedding anniversary of Gayle R. and Dorothy Bringhurst Anderson of 12527 N. Yellowstone.
The couple was married on that date in 1948 in a ceremony in the Salt Lake City Temple. Both are Pocatello residents.
Gayle is a retired railroad employee. Both have taken an active role in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the Chubbuck Lions Club.
They lived briefly in San Diego, California, where Gayle was on active duty with the U.S. Navy, assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Randolph. He served a goodwill tour to the Mediterranean Sea during the Korean War.
The Andersons also served mission for their church to the Southwest Indian Mission in New Mexico, returning to Pocatello at the conclusion of their service.
Their six children are: Crystal (Jerry) Carson, Pocatello; Russell Anderson, Pocatello; Ross Anderson, Boise; Galen (Mary) Anderson, So. Burlington, Vermont; Candi Anderson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Sheldon (Carrie) Anderson, Meridian, Idaho.
They have ten grandchildren: Logan and Nicholas Carson (Crystal); Skyler and Ashley Anderson (Russell); Cassandra and Katelyn Anderson (Galen); Jamila and Tariq Abou-Bakr (Candi); Bailey and Payton Anderson (Sheldon).
A celebration of their life and marriage will be held at their home on Saturday, September 1st starting at noon. Those wishing to do so, are welcome to attend and help them celebrate.
