FBISD seeking name for new school

September 30, 2018

Fort Bend ISD officials are asking students, parents and community members to put on their thinking caps and come up with creative ideas and suggestions for a name for a new Fort Bend ISD elementary campus to be located in the Aliana community.

Nominations must include a one or two paragraph statement (not longer than 250 words) explaining the meaning and inspiration for the proposed school name. District officials say proposed school names are generally names for people or places. If the proposed name involves a person, the individual should have attained prominence in the local community or on a national or state-level and should have made a substantial contribution to society. If the name involves a place, it should include some sense of historical relevance.

Once the deadline for nominations has closed, a naming committee will be formed to consider the nominations prior to a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

Nominations must be completed using an online form available on the district website. For more information, visit www.fortbendisd.com

The deadline to submit names is October 23, 2018.
