NEW YORK (AP) _ Treasury bond prices were mostly lower at midday Friday.

The price of the Treasury's 10-year note was down 5/32 point, or $1.563 per $1,000 in face value, around midday Friday, while its yield rose to 5.68 percent from 5.67 percent late Thursday. Prices and yields move in opposite directions.

The 30-year bonds were down 13/32 point and yielded 5.77 percent, up from 5.74 percent late Thursday.

Yields on three-month Treasury bills held steady at 6.32 percent as the discount hoevered above 6.15 percent. Six-month yields also were unchanged at 6.32 percent as the discount hovered below 6.05 percent. One-year yields rose to 6.12 percent as the discount rose 0.01 point to 5.83 percent.

Yields are the interest bonds pay by maturity, while the discount is the interest at which they are sold.
