Norma’s Café closes early
Due to overwhelming interest, Norma’s Café closed its doors earlier than expected.
The restaurant, which originally planned to shut down for good on Friday, sold out of everything before 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Doni Crews, part owner of Norma’s Café, said over the phone that the restaurant, located at 111 E. Fifth St., was standing-room-only and breakfast was about four times as busy as usual.
Crews said over the phone that she’s very appreciative of the community for supporting the restaurant in the final days. Crews said Norma’s Café went out with a bang.
Crews’ husband, Geno Crews, previously told the Odessa American they were shutting down because he was ready to retire. The property was purchased by the City of Odessa last year as part of a downtown revitalization effort, which was then leased to the Crews’.
