NEW YORK _ With Dallas’ Luka Doncic and Atlanta’s Trae Young leading the way, the top five NBA draft picks from 2018 have been selected as the top five NBA rookies this season. Doncic and Young were unanimous first-team selections for the NBA All-Rookie team just announced. Phoenix’s Deandre Ayton, Memphis’ Jaren Jackson and Sacramento’s Marvin Bagley III are also on the first team, which was chosen by 100 voters who cover the league. Ayton, Bagley, Doncic, Jackson and Young were the first five picks in the last year’s draft. SENT: 320 words.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. _ Haley Moore delivered again for Arizona, making a 15-foot birdie for a 1-up victory that lifted the defending champions to a 3-2 victory over Southern California and a spot in the semifinals at the rain-delayed NCAA Women’s Golf Championship. A six-hour storm delay meant only the quarterfinals were played at Blessing Golf Club. Auburn, which barely got the final spot in match play, was 3 down in all but one of its matches where it rallied to stun Texas, the top seed from stroke play. SENT: 470 words.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. _ Nothing drives Maria Fassi of Mexico like failure. Fassi was the Annika Award last year as the best player in women’s golf as a junior at Arkansas, only to play some of her worst golf in the NCAA championships. She returned for her senior season, motivated to atone for the way last year ended, especially with the NCAAs at Blessings Golf Club, the home course of the Razorbacks. Fassi, with her high energy and a powerful swing, delivered a bogey-free round of 68 to win the NCAA individual title by four shots.
