Stamford YMCA names new CEO

STAMFORD — A New Hampshire man who headed a South Carolina YMCA will now lead the downtown center.

Shawn Patch, who has 20 years of CEO experience, will be responsible for spearheading the Stamford Family YMCA’s fundraising initiatives, youth and family programming, and staff development, as well as increasing membership.

“I knew this was the place that I needed to be the minute I met the staff, volunteers and board members,” Patch said in a news release. “They showed just incredible passion for all the members and they live the mission of the YMCA every day. I’m excited to be part of such a great team.”

Patch was the CEO of the Upper Pee Dee/Sumter Family YMCA in Hartsville, S.C. Patch previously worked for the North Central Florida YMCA, and the YMCA of Greater Miami. Patch, a New Hampshire native, holds a bachelor’s degree in science degree from Slippery Rock University.

“During our search for a new CEO, we looked at candidates from throughout the country, but Shawn stood out among the rest,” said Paul Macari, chairman of the search committee for the Stamford Family YMCA. “His energy and vision for the Stamford Family YMCA is exactly what we were looking for in a leader. Shawn’s experience displays his ability to effectively manage staff, achieve and exceed fundraising goals, and accomplish branch development and program expansion. Shawn also demonstrates a passion toward education, healthy living, social responsibility and youth development.”
