FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) _ Brian Turner passed for 196 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown pass to Leonard Bellamy, Saturday as Methodist beat Davidson 42-13.

Davidson (3-3) took an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Eric Ferguson ran 14 yards for a touchdown. But Methodist’s Turner threw a 34-yard TD pass to Dedrick Gaddy with 2:07 left in the quarter to tie the game at 7-7.

Lamont Evans had TD runs of 2 and 8 yards, and Turner connected with Bellamy in the second quarter to put Methodist (4-2) ahead for good with a 21-7 halftime score.

Turner completed 10 of 23 passes, and DeCarlos West ran 18 times for 93 yards, including a 7-yard TD run, to lead Methodist. Bellamy caught a 15-yard pass from Scott Schwarzer in the fourth for the win.

Ferguson ran 17 times for 86 yards. Ferguson ran 1 yard for a touchdown with 1:59 left in the third quarter to give Davidson their final score.
