Clarence ‘Gene’ Sadler

Clarence E. “Gene” Sadler, 83, of Cabery, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 18, 2018) at his home.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Calvert and Martin Funeral Home, 206 North Maple St., Cullom, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 216 E. Lincoln St., Reddick. The Rev. Show Reddy Allam will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in rural Cabery.

Memorials may be made toward Masses.

Gene was born June 26, 1935, in Cabery, the only child of Edwin and Elizabeth (Jacob) Sadler.

Surviving are his close cousins, Valerie, Nicole and Heidi Wright.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Gene was born and raised in Cabery. He worked at Gould Battery Factory for many years in the office until his retirement. He then worked in the produce department at the IGA in Clifton, enjoying the people and the job very much.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cabery for many years. Gene loved watching the Chicago Bulls.

Gene will be remembered and greatly missed.
