Dodgers’ Jordan to Miss Season
ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Brian Jordan will have season-ending surgery on his left knee Friday.
Jordan is batting .299 with six home runs and 28 RBIs in 66 games. He’s been on the 15-day disabled list since June 25 with patella tendinitis.
``He can’t play baseball with his knee in the state that it was in,″ manager Jim Tracy said. ``He’s got to get it fixed.
``It’s not the easiest thing to rehab from and we know what, but Brian is a gamer.″
The surgery will be performed in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Richard Steadman. The operation is similar to one Jordan had after last season.
Jordan played in 128 games last year, his lowest total in five years, and batted .285 with 18 homers and 80 RBIs.
