Norfolk 101: Citizens academy to begin September 11
NORFOLK - Norfolk residents are invited to learn all about how their city’s government works by taking part in Norfolk 101… the Citizen’s Academy.
Communications Manager Liz Wallace says the seven-week class covers all aspects of the city.
“You get to go around to all the different divisions and get to meet all the divisions heads. You learn all the procedures from snow removal to police. It’s just a really neat opportunity and a great way to meet the City officials” Wallace said.
She says the class begins Tuesday night, September 11th, meets each Tuesday from 6 to 9 through October 23rd, and culminates Monday night November 5th at a City Council meeting.
Wallace says the class is free but is limited to 15 participants, and applications are available at the City offices.
