Attorney General Tim Fox says he’s cancer-free

September 21, 2018

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Montana Attorney General Tim Fox says there’s no sign of cancer in his body after four chemotheraphy treatments and the removal of part of his colon.

The 61-year-old Republican told The Great Falls Tribune on Thursday that he is considering a run for governor in 2020, and that it’s a viable option because he is healthy.

Fox publicly revealed his colon cancer diagnosis in April after having 7 inches (18 centimeters) of his colon removed in surgery.

Fox says he is now 30 pounds (14 kilograms) lighter and feels better than he has in a long, long time.

He says he missed about 2 ½ weeks of work for treatments and recovery. He also completed his master’s degree in public administration from the University of Montana during that time.
