Huntington Christmas Parade comes to town Dec. 1

HUNTINGTON — Children and adults alike are gearing up to celebrate the holiday season as it makes its way to downtown Huntington for the third annual Christmas Parade of Lights.

Presented by Downtown Live! the parade starts at 5:30 p.m. beginning at 4th Avenue and 12th Street, it will continue to 8th Street where the route will turn right onto 3rd Avenue. Rounding out the route will be a final stop at Pullman Square.

Local area bands, holiday lights and area organizations are scheduled to participate in kicking off a festive season. A visit by the Santa Claus is also set to take place with Marco the Bison, the mascot for Marshall University, serving as grand marshal for the event.

Before and during the parade, Huntington’s Kitchen located at 911 3rd Ave., is offering free hot chocolate complete with toppings starting at 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. available to the public.
