WILMINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Vermont town officials say they want people to stay safe and for snowmobiles to stick to approved roads as snow begins to fall.

The Wilmington Select Board has approved certain roads for snowmobile use at a Wednesday meeting after the board was asked to do so earlier this month. The Brattleboro Reformer reports the Wilmington housing association has been sent lists with approved roads for snowmobiling.

Despite this, executive director Ken Spicer says there will always be a few people who don't follow the rules. Wilmington Police Chief Joe Szarejko says his department will be working closely with the town's snowmobile clubs as they have over the past few years.
