Add a name to Austin Bruins’ Paint the Rink Pink jerseys
The Austin Bruins’ rink will be pink for the ninth year.
But 100 names of cancer survivors, current fighters and loved ones who have lost the battle also will be out on the ice.
The Bruins are selling space for the names on special jerseys worn during the Paint the Rink Pink hockey game Feb. 2. Each name costs $50, and the proceeds will go toward cancer research at the Hormel Institute.
Information can be submitted through the Austin Bruins’ website or by emailing Brian Schultz at firstname.lastname@example.org. Names already have begun to sell and will go quickly.
Paint the Rink Pink has raised more than $245,000, and the larger, city-wide Paint the Town Pink event has raised about $1.5 million since it began in 2011.
