NEW YORK (AP) _ Classy Cathy carrying a top weight of 121 and Earlie Fires, came from behind for a three-quarters length victory in the $100,800 Gazelle Handicap for 3-year-old fillies at Belmont Park Wednesday.

Life At The Top, 118, with Angel Cordero Jr. aboard tired after leading throughout but held on for second place, two lengths ahead of Dynamic Star, 116, and Jacinto Vasquez. Silent Account trailed the field.

The winner, who was favored, recorded her second consecutive stakes victory. She won the Alabama at Saratoga on Aug. 9, beating Valley Victory by a neck.

The Pennsylvania bred horse went a 1 1-8 miles on the fast track in 1:48 2-5 to earn $66,480 for owner Edward A. Cox Jr. She returned $4 and $2.10. Life At The Top paid $2.40. There was no show betting.

It was the first meet of a 48-day autumn schedule at Belmont.
