Project to cause lane closures, traffic delays

March 24, 2019

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. — Projects to stabilize the embankment along KY 2 will cause lane closures and traffic delays beginning Monday, March 25.

The embankment stabilization is part of an ongoing $2 million Transportation Cabinet project to improve safety along four miles of the state highway. Work started in March and will continue throughout the spring and summer.

Contractors will install T-rail alongside KY 2 within the first two miles of U.S. 23 at Greenup. Work will require daily lane closures using temporary traffic signals for the next four weeks. Motorists should expect delays.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
