Veterans home says visits suspended due to norovirus
TILTON, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire Veterans Home says it has suspended visits because of a norovirus outbreak.
WMUR-TV reports the veterans home in Tilton said Friday that several cases of norovirus have been confirmed. Visits were suspended after the New Hampshire Division of Public Health Services was contacted.
The highly contagious virus causes vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain and headaches.
Officials said they were concerned about it spreading among the 200 frail, older residents of the home.
Visits to severely ill residents and those in hospice care will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
