No one hurt when tractor hits train in Dodge County
TOWN OF LOWELL — No one was hurt when a tractor operating in a farm field slid into the front end of train around 10 a.m. Friday.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a collision between a train and a tractor near County Highway KW and Hogsback Road. A press release states that investigation indicated that a tractor, operated by a rural 31-year-old Juneau man, was traveling south in a farm field drive near W7782 County Highway KW. The tractor driver attempted to stop for the train that was on tracks that ran through the field, but slid due to slippery conditions, striking the front of the train.
No one was injured as a result of this incident and the only damage as a result of the collision was to the front plow and railing of the train engine.
The incident did not originate or terminate on a traffic way, so the incident is a civil matter and not a reportable crash.
