Stephenson wins two event titles, Huskers finish third at Ohio State
Anton Stephenson won two event titles, but it wasn’t enough for the No. 8 Nebraska men’s gymnastics team, which finished behind No. 6 Minnesota and No. 7 Ohio State on Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
The Gophers claimed first, and two wins in the Big Ten standings, with 406.300 points. Ohio State (405.550) was second and the Huskers (402.300) were third in a tight triangular.
Stephenson won the vault title with an impressive 15.10, and added a win on floor exercise (14.60).
Sophomore Griffin Kehler added a second-place finish in high bar with a 13.850, and freshman Evan Kriley was third on pommel horse after posting a 13.950.
The third-place finish puts the Huskers out of the running for the Big Ten regular-season championship.
