California man sentenced for running drug delivery service
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Southern California man who ran a delivery service for heroin and cocaine users has been sentenced to more than 19 ½ years in federal prison.
Sigifredo Barrientos was sentenced Monday in Los Angeles.
Authorities say the Sylmar man ran “Manny’s Delivery Service.” The Van Nuys-based ring used a fleet of cars and a staff of drivers to make deliveries, mainly of heroin, to customers who phoned in drug orders from around the San Fernando Valley.
Federal prosecutors say he obtained the drugs, managed the employees and arranged for storage and transportation.
Barrientos was arrested in 2017. He pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy. He’s the last of more than a dozen defendants to be sentenced.
Other received up to eight years in prison.
