The first week of October: Warmer than usual but little threat for rain

October 1, 2018

Current Temperatures, DMA

The first week of October will feel a lot like summer.

According to WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss, while temperatures won’t be record-breaking this week, they will be unusually warm for October.

Highs will be in the low to mid 80s most days, and with sunny skies, there is little threat for rain.

“You can leave the umbrella in your car or closet this week,” said Moss.

While Monday and Tuesday will see temperatures in the low 80s, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be warmer, with highs in the upper 80s.

By Saturday, temperatures will remain above normal but will decrease slightly, and there is a slim chance for afternoon showers.
