Columbia woman charged with murder in Wagener case
A Columbia woman has been arrested and charged with murder in relation to the death of an elderly Wagener man in May 2018.
Nikki Lee Price, 38, was arrested and charged Dec. 26.
Price is now the second person charged with the murder of Kenneth Carlisle Goodwin, 76, whose body was found under a tarp in the yard at his home on Main Street in Wagener on May 28, 2018.
Christopher Wayne Trueblood, of Gaston, was arrested and charged with the murder of Goodwin and grand larceny on July 3.
In May, Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said Goodwin’s home “appeared to have been burglarized and several items removed from his home.”
Capt. Eric Abdullah, with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed that Price and Trueblood were in a relationship at the time.
Trueblood was arrested July 3 on S.C. Highway 6 by Lexington County police, and he was later transferred to the Aiken County detention center.
A judge denied a motion for bond for Trueblood earlier this year, which means he will continue to remain in custody at the Aiken County detention center.
