Chris O’Donnell Talks To Daily News

November 1, 1999

NEW YORK (AP) _ Chris O’Donnell plays a man afraid of commitment in his new movie ``The Bachelor.″ But in real life, he seems to have no problem settling into married life.

The 29-year-old actor and his wife, Caroline Fentress, have been married for a little more than two years, and are now proud parents of a baby girl, Lily Anne, born Sept. 3.

``I was there for the birth, and it was pretty overwhelming,″ O’Donnell said in Sunday’s Daily News. ``The baby is all we talk about now.″

Despite a happy home life, O’Donnell said he can understand why his character is reluctant to take the plunge in the movie, which opens Friday.

``Guys take pride in bachelorhood and their sense of freedom,″ he said. ``Marriage is the furthest thing from the minds of my high school buddies.″

And why did O’Donnell get hitched at a young age?

``When you meet the right person, you just know. Marriage is what life is all about.″
