May 1, 2019

BRADLEY — The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in Kankakee County took in 650 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday.

The event was held at Northfield Square mall in Bradley, and continued a recent string of successes.

Chris Koerner, director of the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group, said last week that the two take back events held prior to Saturday brought in more than 1,500 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs.

KAMEG, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Kankakee, Manteno and Momence police departments, Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration. The event is held twice a year.

Pledge for Life Partnership of Kankakee County assisted KAMEG.
