Longmont Man Charged in Fatal Crash Near Berthoud
A Longmont man accused of causing a crash on U.S. 287 south of Berthoud in September was arrested on vehicular homicide charges Wednesday.
Online court records indicate Jonathan Walter Bullard, 39, was booked and released on a $15,000 personal recognizance bond. He faces two counts of vehicular homicide, two counts of vehicular assault, felony DUI after three or more priors, driving under restraint and no insurance.
The charges stem from a head on crash on U.S. 287 between Longmont and Berthoud on Sept. 2 that killed Sumei Han, 54, of Fort Collins. Han’s passenger and Bullard also were seriously injured.
An investigation by the Colorado State Patrol determined that Bullard’s vehicle drifted across the painted center median and struck Han’s vehicle.
Court records indicate that Bullard has been wanted on the charges since November.
He has prior convictions in Colorado for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, vehicular eluding, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, driving under restraint, drug possession and driving under the influence, according to court records.
