IOWA TORNADO-FACTORY — Less than two months after a tornado tore through a sprawling factory near Pella, the business is meeting production demands and making plans to not only replace demolished buildings but expand its operations. UPCOMING: 300 words.

Iowa State will play an instate rival in its first game after a canceled opener. The Cyclones go to Iowa for the Cy-Hawk Series, one of three non-conference games in the Big 12 against other Power Five teams in Week 2. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy considers Taylor Cornelius somewhat of a dinosaur, and not because his starting quarterback’s 23rd birthday is coming up. Cornelius finally got his first college start in his fifth year in the program. Kyle Kempt got a sixth college season after taking over as Iowa State’s starting quarterback the middle of last season. Penn State-Pittsburgh and Iowa State-Iowa are among the in-state non-conference battles in the Big Ten this week. The ones involving directional schools — Western Michigan at Michigan and Western Illinois at Illinois — aren’t to be forgotten.
