Sheriff announces Labor Day enforcement results
SYCAMORE – DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies arrested
10 people for driving under the influence during the Labor Day enforcement period, according to a news release.
The office joined agencies around the state for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign Aug. 20 through Sept. 4 and added 26 saturation patrols throughout the county during that time.
According to the release,
125 citations were issued during the campaign, including 32 for occupants not wearing a seat belt, 21 for drivers who didn’t have insurance, 16 for speeding, eight for using a cellphone without a hands-free device and four for failing to secure children in car seats.
The statewide campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
