U.S. Soldier Killed in Iraq
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) _ A U.S. soldier died when by a roadside bomb hit his combat patrol in northern Iraq on Thursday, the military said.
The attack occurred at about 1 p.m. near Dujail, 50 miles miles north of Baghdad, the statement said.
The name of the soldier was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The death brought to 1,965 the number of members of the U.S. military who have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
