THIBODAUX, La. (AP) _ Reggie Jackson scored 34 points as Nicholls State overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Northeast Louisiana 79-73 in a Southland Conference game Saturday night.

The win was the 12th straight at home for Nicholls State (17-5, 12-1) and avenged an earlier 82-72 conference loss to Northeast (9-15, 8-5).

Terrel Castle added 15 for the Colonels, while Gerard King scored 13. Larry Carr led Northeast with 29 points, followed by Alvin Edwards with 16.

Carr, who scored five three-pointers, hit two long shots late in the game, including one with 1:24 left to cut the score to 74-73. But King followed with a dunk and Nicholls State hit three of four free throws with less than a minute remaining.
