Calvin Whiting L. Whiting Calvin Lemuel Whiting, 90, of Salem, Utah formerly of Grace and Soda Springs, Idaho passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 in Payson Utah. Calvin was born on June 16, 1928 in McCammon, Idaho the son of Lemuel Alma and Marcena Ames Whiting. He graduated from McCammon High School and attended Idaho State University and the school of hard knocks. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. Calvin married Doris Elaine Larsen on September 10, 1950 in McCammon, Idaho and were later sealed in the LDS Temple on March 11, 1967. She passed away August 12, 1985. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served as Elders Quorum President, High Councilmen, Counselor in the Bishopric, a Temple Worker, Home Teacher, Chorister, Music Director and Choir Member. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, genealogy and singing. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandkids and he gave the best hugs. Calvin is survived by two sons, and three daughters, Dale (Lori) Whiting of Salem, UT, Wayne (Sue) Whiting of Wayan, ID, Lynnette (Steve) Nielsen of Pocatello, ID, Colette (Reid) Edstrom of Salem, UT, Bobette Whiting of Buhl, ID. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren and one brother Boice Whiting and a sister, Shirley Rasmussen. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, his parents and 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Services will be held on Saturday, January 19 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Family will visit with friends on Saturday morning from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Restlawn Cemetery in Pocatello, ID.
