Vikings Coach Dennis Green’s Lawsuit Dismissed at His Own Request
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ A judge granted a request by Dennis Green and dismissed a suit the Minnesota Vikings coach filed against a Twin Cities woman.
Acting on a request by one of Green’s attorneys, Hennepin County district judge Andrew Danielson on Tuesday dismissed the suit in a way that would allow the claims to be refiled in the future.
The judge reserved the right to hear any future motions for sanctions by either side. Green’s attorney, Joe Friedberg, has indicated they might seek sanctions against the woman’s lawyer, Lori Peterson, who in turn has complained about Friedberg’s conduct.
She and Green sued each other in June. Her claims for breach of contract and emotional distress were dismissed earlier.
The cases reportedly involved a payment Green made to the woman for an abortion in 1992 and a confidentiality agreement. Because the cases have been sealed and a gag order imposed against both parties, she has not been named publicly and relatively few details have emerged officially.
