Cops: Delmont man allegedly abused girl over two-year period
State police arrested a 46-year-old Delmont man Wednesday on multiple criminal charges of sexually abusing a girl over two years and photographing the victim on one occasion when she was partially clothed.
Alberto F. Marton was arraigned before South Huntingdon District Judge Charles Moore on charges of aggravated indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual abuse of children and manufacturing obscene material filed by Trooper Christopher Cole.
Cole alleged in court documents that Marton repeatedly fondled and groped the victim when she was between the ages of 10 and 12 beginning in 2016. Cole said the investigation began when the victim informed relatives that the abuse occurred at an acquaintance’s apartment in the New Stanton area.
Cole reported that during a recent interview Marton admitted abusing the victim, telling investigators “he had a mental block,” but “it must have occurred more than once.”
Marton also admitted to police that he photographed the victim partially clothed, but had deleted the photograph from his cell phone.
Marton was released after posting $750 bond pending a Sept. 12 preliminary hearing.
